Congratulations to Ann Owen who has been chosen to receive a $500 scholarship to attend the 2012 Innovative Users Group conference in Chicago in mid-April. The scholarship is being awarded by WILIUG (Wisconsin/Illinois Innovative Users Group) which “facilitates communication and helps create learning opportunities, both online and in-person, for Innovative [system] libraries in the area. “
Ann’s application described her post conference plan to share the top ten ideas she learns at the conference with WILIUG colleagues on our library’s new blog.
I am here at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers near Navy Pier in a room on the 26th floor overlooking the river and feeling very glad to have won a WILIUG (Wisconsin/Illinois Innovative Users Group) scholarship to attend the annual IUG conference. Opening session full of cool details on Innovative’s innovations–Sierra, Encore 5, Decision Center. This is the 20th year of this conference. Think about how different the technology in the library world looks today and how forward-thinking it was for the Innovative Users Group to put this conference together 20 years ago. This is not a “company” organization; this learning opportunity is organized by the “users” of the company’s products.
